Gwyneth Paltrow rocked this role as moping, secretive and independent child prodigy, Margot Tenenbaum. Adopted into this eccentric and ironic family of fallen geniuses, Margot and the rest of her now grown siblings spend their time wallowing in their depression and anxieties towards failure. Margot’s signature look in this film consists of a blunt haircut, striped polo dress, fur coat and cigarette always in hand. Sport this look with the Motel Husky coat, Obey Low Tide dress, the Jeffrey Campbell Macho shoe and the Honeydew Intimates Ruffle Heart Chemise… oh and don’t forget the black eyeliner.
One of the biggest break out trends to come from last fall’s runway shows was the platform clog, a la Chanel. Finally the style has been made available to the masses by brands like Jeffrey Campbell and Seychelles. I think they could be pretty amazing for summer with a cute flowery sundress. The Tick Shoe in White Tribal by our man JC has been getting well deserved street cred, and by some miracle, Karmaloop still has a couple pairs for those of you who have been living under a rock.
