BB Dakota sale on PLNDR via M.I.S.S

This post from our girls at M.I.S.S is pretty dope, so we thought it deserved a re-post…

BB Dakota has been making clothing for ladies who are feminine and independent since 2005.  Preppy with a dash of glamour and sophistication, BB Dakota designs clothing for ladies who are “intelligent, at times demure, at times sexy, always feminine and always confident.”  Katharine Brandes, the creative director of BB Dakota, gave us a taste of the Dakota girl in action…

Not only are the clothes cute, but they are affordable and starting on Monday, you’ll get an even sweeter deal because BB Dakota will be on sale for a limited time on PLNDR.com.  Sales are open to members only and membership is free.  Check out some of editor Gabriella’s  favorite pieces below with items I’d pair them with from the Karmaloop shop.

British Invasion

We really have a huge crush on Motel and judging by all of the press the brand has been getting, it’s fair to say that you are also smitten! These blog worthy Brits keeps us on our toes with effortlessly chic pieces that are easy to mix, match, and layer (check out the recent Buyer Wire!). Motel kills it once again with the Rae Dress, featured in the July issue of Cosmo. Acknowledged for it’s hot factor with the gents, the low cut back of this dress is jazzed up with metallic roping. Other styles “He’d Love to See You In…” came as a surprise to us – it seems the boys have finally caught on! Rompers, one shouldered dresses, sheer details, and destroyed denim shorts all topped the list.

Cut It Out!

If you didn’t know by now, cutouts are high on the list of new clothing trend this season. So if you like what you see, then you’ll love cutting out the pricey difference in theses identical dresses and banking that extra $258 on some sweet accessories.

Pop Rocks

Making an impression this season are crystal and jewel inspired pieces, and as we all know, nobody can resist the shiny, sparkly, dazzling things in life. With the ability to embellish simple tees, tanks, and dresses with luxe graphics, it’s no wonder these rock themed prints and accessories are so popular! Some of our favorites (clockwise from top left) are the Diamond Life Tank by Trash and Luxury, the Hematite Pyramid Stud Earrings by Harajuku Lovers, the Kaleidy Dress by Insight, and the 24 Karats Tee by Married to the Mob.

Sculptural Looks from Blaque Label

The latest dresses out by Blaque Label are shapely, in all the right places. I’m down with the simplicity of The Fawn Dress and it’s nude colorway and flirty one-shoulder strap. The Rona dress is great for a more conservative but still sexy look, and The Mischa Dress is reminiscent of Lady Gaga’s extreme sense of fashion. Pick a style that suits you best!

Kritsten Stewart in Vans

Vans has just come out with some great new pieces for Spring: belts, dresses, sunglasses, swimwear, the works.  But don’t forget an old classic, The Authentic Sneaker.  Seen here on Kristen Stewart, this sneaker is never out of style and goes with almost everything.  Plus, it’s affordable for those of us who aren’t cashing in on those Twilight millions.

Good morning, Starshine!

rojas

Since the release of the Christopher Kane mushroom cloud dress, it seems the world is going cuckoo for constellations! Opening Ceremony, Sass and Bide, and Moschino Cheap and Chic have all jumped on the “lost in space” bandwagon. Get the most (big) bang for your buck (harhar) with the Cosmic Rouge Dress by Rojas.

As Ciara demonstrated at the Vevo Launch event in New York City this week, the back of your dress can be just as (if not more) fun as the front!

The Vest Dress

I don’t know if y’all remember this Alexander Wang dress from the Fall 08 runway as seen on Becki Newton and Paris Hilton, but The Lawrence Dress in Black by BB Dakota is pretty much a deadringer. They’re only off by a button! Not bad for $40. I’ll probably snag one myself.
