Holy Hellz via MISS

Karmaloop and MISS <3 our girl Lanie from Hellz Bellz! Since the inception of Hellz-Bellz in 2005, founder and creative director Lanie Alabanza-Barcena has been heralded as a game changer in the womens wear industry. With an appreciation for the subcultures of our past and present, Hellz-Bellz provides contemporary clothing that represents a rebellious youth, a creative class, a community of forward thinking females that know not the bounds of social norms. Each cut-and-sew piece and every collaborative project is designed down to the very last detail, keeping in mind the need to feed the appetites of the fashion savvy who crave an alternative to the conforming fashion of today. The girls at MISS shot Lanie over a brief survey, where they got her opinion on everything from fake nails to her favorite season of Houswives.  Check it:

For all you die-hard Hellz fans, rejoice because the Hellz Boutique is opening tomorrow on Plndr! Check out some seriously major styles at some seriously awesome prices.  Feeling uninspired about how to pair the pieces? Check these ideas from MISS:

British Invasion

We really have a huge crush on Motel and judging by all of the press the brand has been getting, it’s fair to say that you are also smitten! These blog worthy Brits keeps us on our toes with effortlessly chic pieces that are easy to mix, match, and layer (check out the recent Buyer Wire!). Motel kills it once again with the Rae Dress, featured in the July issue of Cosmo. Acknowledged for it’s hot factor with the gents, the low cut back of this dress is jazzed up with metallic roping. Other styles “He’d Love to See You In…” came as a surprise to us – it seems the boys have finally caught on! Rompers, one shouldered dresses, sheer details, and destroyed denim shorts all topped the list.

Boyfriend’s Closet

We love our boys — and their loungewear. Not gonna lie, we think some of it looks better on us than them (at least that’s what we tell ourselves to rationalize the comfort level). Whether menswear inspired or literally taken from our men’s wear (brownie points for feminine personalization!), the casual cool factor of some worn in shorts, tees, and “borrowed” hats make the closet coup worthwhile. Visit our Shop By Style category, BOYFRIEND’S CLOSET, to avoid the risk of encountering smelly socks when sneaking into your guy’s territory.

Ever look back at a photo of yourself and wonder what you were thinking when you put on that awful pair of jeans?  Well hopefully these denim disasters will help you feel a little better about any slight fashion faux pas you may have made in the past. See more at Refinery 29.

Cop This Look: Beachy Chic

Still have a while to go before beach season (with the exception of all you spring breakers!) but might as well start daydreaming about it now: boardwalks, sand, sun, surf, friends, windows down. Vanessa Hudgens has the exact look for that daydream in frayed denim shorts, a floppy beach hat, strappy sandals, and a baggy Wildfox tank.

Get a similar summer style with the Wildfox #9 Mega Babe Tank by Wildfox, the Soth Cloth Relax’d Classique Shorts by Blank Denim, and the Odessa Sandal by DV Shoes by Dolce Vita.

Spring Tripp

Tripp NYC spring just landed, bringing us a fresh take on the distressed looks you’ve seen so far this season. Acid wash stretch denim, layered torn hoodies, and lace up cut out leggings are only a few of the punk inspired pieces you must have for Spring. Deck yourself out in a total Tripp look, fit for St. Marks place, NYC, or pick a starter piece to pair with your basics for a more relaxed look. Either way, you’ve created a unique get up inspired by the one and only, Tripp NYC.
