Karmaloop presents: The Vita Chambers giveaway!

Now who doesn’t like music and free stuff? Karmaloop and rising star Vita Chambers have teamed to provide you a chance to win a sick shopping spree and Vita Chambers prize pack. Grand Prize winners will recieve a signed poster, CD, and t-shirt and a $250 shopping spree on Karmaloop! It’s easy to enter, all you gotta do is sign up! The Contest will run from Wednesday, August 25th, to Friday, September 24th. Winners will be announced on Friday, October 2nd.

In case you haven’t already heard of her, the 17-year-old Pop singer Vita Chambers was born in Canada and raised in Barbados. She facilitated her own discovery on the net by posting music that she co-wrote and recorded in Barbados. Soon after being discovered via MySpace, Vita traveled to New York to sign and record her album with SRP/Universal Motown Records, the same label that also discovered the Bajan artists Rihanna and Shontelle. With a musical style that has been compared to Pink, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson, Vita says of her first album, “The songs are pop, but also with an element of rock. The lyrics are young, everything that goes through a teenager’s mind. I’d like my look to have a vintage and contemporary feel, something familiar, but cool and edgy and new, too. Wherever it goes, it’s got to be honest. I have a lot of female friends, and some have self-confidence issues, so always being true to yourself and comfortable in your skin is something I’m always concerned with.” Vita is currently touring with Justin Bieber.

The Butter Factory

Recently got a peek at Rhythm, the bimonthly publication of Singapore’s trendy Butter Factory nightclub — pysched to see some Karmaloop gear featured in their “Buy Or Die” segment. We love seeing our merch have an international reach, especially items such as the DPS Tee By Irons, which really shows how influential our up-and-coming Kazbah brands can be. Also highlighted are the wildly popular Solo HD Red w/ Control Talk Headphones by Beats by Dre. Rhythm looks to be a pretty neat lil’ mag, chock full of style, cool spotting, and naturally…partying. Makes me want to “get buttered” in Singapore!

Peep These Double Dees

Mariah put on a big show this past weekend in São Paolo, Brazil and we can’t help but notice she may have a bun in the oven! (Congrats Mimi?!) But celebrity gossip aside, the Karmaloop ladies are extremely excited to see our in-house line, Double Dees, gracing the stage of the Festa Do Peão de Boiadeiros way down in this lively Brazilian hub. Even more titillating (notice the pun?? ha!) is to see the “Diva Next Door” put her own twist on the You Like Fun Tunic with rhinestone detailing. We hope Mariah likes Double Dees as much as we love her sing-in-the-shower approved power ballads and flirty pop hits. Ahh, Juno… Everyone’s favorite feisty and precocious preggo. Despite some questionable choices regarding Paulie Bleaker, Juno (played by Ellen Page) won our hearts with her quirky taste in music and of course, fashion.
